Luken Ermilus
Co-Founder, Haiti Director of Youth Ministry and Community Outreach
Luken is a seminary student, an amazing young man, and our inspiration! In 2011, he felt called to serve the poorest of the poor in the slum of Cite´ Soleil, Haiti, a place where most Haitians won’t go. Every Saturday, he faithfully spent time with 21 children, teaching them English and the Bible, making sure they had a hot meal. During a “chance” meeting with Ricky Burge in 2014, Luken shared his dream to help Cite´ Soleil's children further, and they both realized God had led them to each other. In 2016, the Luken Foundation was formed. Since then, with donations to the Luken Foundation, over 75 children are attending school for the first time! These children also receive medical care, food, and tutoring, as well as Luken's continued personal involvement with each of them. Every Saturday, Luken spends the day with the children, and on Sunday, he leads a community-wide church service in Cite´ Soleil where, at times, over 400 people attend. He completely manages the daily operations at the Luken Foundation. His dedication is amazing, and his commitment to God and these children is why the Luken Foundation was started.
