Healthy Meal Program
Haiti’s hunger problem is shocking, with the lowest food availability currently measured in the world. One in three children has stunted growth in Haiti, while 100,000 children suffer from anemia. Because of this, the Luken Foundation has implemented a healthy meal program.
We are blessed to feed over 76 children each day and between 200-400 people after our church services and during summer camps. No one should ever have to experience hunger, especially children.
The parents are extremely grateful for this program! The average adult in Cite´ Soleil makes about $1.24 per day, while some families have no income at all. Without our intervention, our parents would not be able to provide their children with even one meal a day and could certainly not afford the public school tuition of $150-$250/year per student. We are humbled and honored to be able to nourish these young minds and bodies.
